Personal Description:

Hi:)

I am thoroughly enjoying my first year teaching, I am an outstanding professional who aims to continue to instil a desire for music to all of my students. My philosophy as a teacher is that I believe no student should be left behind in the classroom, they should enjoy being in lessons and should be motivated to learn

I am a teacher of product design for secondary school and I absolutely love my job. I teach years 7 and 8 violin as an extra curricular activity and it's so lovely to see their desire to learn how to play. As I have played violin since I was 5 I feel that this is a good age to start learning and would love to inspire others and pass on my love of the instrument.

Teaching Experience:

Outside of the classroom I am an avid musician and I play a variety of instruments including violin, saxophone, piano, guitar and flute. I was inspired by my music teachers in school and from them developed a deep love of music. I understand the wider picture of working in a secondary school and I run several violin groups to support the extra-curricular programme and am willing to go above and beyond to support students.

Other related school experience is apparent with my role as exam invigilator where I had to be fully up to date with examination regulations. I invigilated small groups or worked 1-1 with students that have additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, OCD, high anxiety, and dyslexia.

Tutoring Approach:

As a secondary school teacher I am surrounded by pupils on a daily basis all with personalised needs that are required to be met in order for them to achieve their potential. I provide 1 hour lessons for students aged 5+ that would like to start playing violin and can offer teaching from preliminary (before grade 1) through to grade 4. I have my grade 8 in violin and have since played for various orchestras and wedding services.

• Music A level C
• Music GCSE A
